Sense Smart Region

Through the Sense Smart Region project, we are developing technologies for creating smart services using the Internet of Things (IoT), as well as opening public data and providing support for presenting information as enhanced reality (AR). Companies are then offered to build services on the platform. See also www.sensesmartregion.se.

Parties in the project are Luleå University of Technology, Sokigo, DataDuctus, NorthKingdom, Umeå Municipality, Skellefteå Kraft, Skelleftea Digital Alliance and Skellefteå Municipality.

The project is partly financed by the European Regional Development Fund.

IVOS IoT in care and care within the municipality of Skellefteå

The project addresses the future demographic challenge and e-health area, as well as the connection to smart regions. Case study is being built as an application on the Sense Smart Region platform.

The project catalyzes existing systems, based on the Internet’s Internet-of-Things (IoT), in the municipality, by expanding these with new IoT devices, as well as exchanging information from these between municipal operations. The main objective of the project is to investigate how interoperability between subsystems can be achieved and applied both physically and logically, ie through a case study in elderly care. How different electronic components are interconnected (internet, gateway, communications solutions) and how data can be shared between different systems by applying common data formats. Thus, we aim to create the conditions for managing the demographic challenge and the accompanying growing care and care needs in our municipalities with IoT.
